This is a traditional European delicacy, a walnut roll is an ideal recipe
for a special occasion or for a every day treat. You can alter this
recipe with poppy seeds filling as well and even add in raisins soaked in rum
for an even yummier taste.

- 200 g sugar
- 200 g fat
- 2 dl milk
- 1 sachet of yeast
- 3 eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- 0.5 ml maraschino
- peel oranges
- flour as necessary
- 2 x 250g ground walnuts
- some milk
- little margarine
- 200 g raisins (optional)
- vanilla
- 100 g sugar
- Put yeast with teaspoon of sugar, warm water and a little flour to rise.
- Fat, sugar and milk are put to boil, then leave to cool.
- Mix flour, foamed yeast, cooled mixture of milk, sugar and fat, then add eggs, grated orange rind, vanilla, glass of maraschino or a similar aromatic drink and flour as necessary (dough should be medium-hard).
- Put on warm to rise.
- When dough has risen, roll out a pastry with a rolling pin and apply filling (pour hot milk over milled walnuts, margarine, sugar, raisins and cool). This dosage is for 2 larger rolls.
- Put stuffed rolls in a greased baking pan and then again put on warm to rise. Before baking, put pieces of margarine on rolls and put to bake in a preheated oven at 200 * C until they get a nice color.
