If you're fond of oriental sweets and sweets poured with sherbet like me, then, this is the right recipe for you. Easy to prepare, you don't even need a mixer. This cake is usually served with unsweetened coffee or tea because of its rich sweet taste. The internet went crazy for this cake, so here's the recipe.
Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 1 egg
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup sour milk
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2,5 cups semolina
- 1 tsp soda bicarbonate
- 1 sachet vanilla sugar (10 g)
- 1 cup flour
- unsalted unbaked almonds or hazelnuts
- 2,5 cups sugar
- 2,5 cups water
- 2-3 slices of lemon
Preparation:
- Mix well the dough ingredients with a wire and pour the mixture in a smaller oiled pan. Press and spread it well with your hands.
- Decorate with hazelnuts or almonds and put to bake at 180 C degrees for about 40 minutes. After baking, leave it for 5 minutes, then cut in pieces.
- Prepare the syrup, boil water with sugar for several minutes until the syrup begins to thicken, then add slices of lemon.
- Pour warm syrup over cooled dough or cold syrup over warm dough. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and leave for several hours to soak the syrup well.
