This is a recipe for the most delicious and most charming honey cookies I've tried. The taste is very similar to those from the store. They smell wonderful, I made most of them with chocolate glaze, and several only dipped in powdered sugar and a pinch of cinnamon. Sure they are delicious, without and with glaze.
Ingredients:
Preparation:
Ingredients:
- 75 g of honey
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 125 g butter
- 1 egg
- 7 g of powdered sugar
- 250 g flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon mastic or ouzo (eventually rum)
- pinch of mixture of nutmeg, cardamon, ginger and cloves in powder and just a little black pepper
Preparation:
- Mix the butter, egg and alcohol with a mixer.First the butter, then add the egg and the liqueur.
- Mix the dry ingredients - flour, cinnamon, a mixture of nutmeg and sugar.
- Honey is softened by slight warming, the soda is added and stirred. This mixture is added to the butter, mix and add flour.
- Knead shortly by hand and leave in the freezer for 10 minutes to harden.
- Then spread dough on the working surface, use a rolling pin if needed and make forms.
- Put forms on a baking pan covered with baking paper.
- Bake at 170 C degrees for about 10 minutes.
- After roasting, they can be decorated as desired or leave them as they are, since they are delicious just as they are.
- If you wanna make a chocolate glaze, the rule is: 100 g cooking chocolate is melted with 70 g of butter and 1 tbs oil. I boil water in a pot and put a metal plate on top and there I melt the chocolate and the butter to avoid burning if it's melted directly on the hotplate. Dip each cookie in the chocolate mixture. You'll need around 150 g of chocolate to cover all.
