HOMEMADE KEBAPI (PORK AND BEEF)

Did you know that originally kebapi are made with lamb meat combined with beef? But, because the lamb meat is not always available and it's often very expensive, it's substituted with ground pork. Whatever combination you choose, they'll turn out great. There are many recipes, this one is adopted for home use, I've used other recipes which can be found on my page, I used this one for the first time and I was thrilled with the softness and taste of my kebapi. Of course, you will also need flat bread, and the recipe can be found HERE.

Ingredients:
  •      300 g ground beef (10.5 oz)
  •      200 g ground pork (7 oz)
  •      1/2 tablespoon of salt
  •      1/3 teaspoon black pepper
  •      1 egg
  •      2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  •      1/3 teaspoon of baking soda
  •      2 tablespoons oil
  •      1/2 onions
  •      2 cloves garlic
Preparation:
  1. Mix all the ingredients into a larger bowl, to get a homogeneous mixture. Leave in fridge for 1 hour.
  2. Then, form kebapi with oiled hands.
  3. Add a little oil  to the grill pan and bake kebapi evenly on all sides. Or bake on an oiled grill.
While I made kebapi, my bread was baking and previously I made the garlic makalo and salad.
Serve with Bukovska pepper and spring onions!
