This is one of the most eaten stews in Macedonia, the yellow beans stew. The
following recipe is a variation of the basic recipe since I added
minced meat here and it turned out delicious! I asked myself why haven't
I done it this way before! I used frozen beans and you can prepare the stew this way using other veggies too like, peas, potatoes, mixed vegetables etc. The following recipe is enough for 2
adults and 2 children under 8. You can double the dosage if needed.
Let's see the recipe:

Enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 500 g frozen yellow beans (17 oz)
- 200 g minced meat (7 oz)
- 1 chopped carrot
- 150 ml tomato sauce (2/3 cup)
- 1/2 chopped onion
- parsley
- vegetable seasoning, oil, 1/2 tbs paprika
- bay leaf
- Fry onion in a little oil, then add the minced meat. Fry on medium heat in the cooking saucepan where you'll prepare the stew and until meat changes color for about 6-7 minutes.
- Add the beans and the carrot and stir.
- Add 1 teaspoon paprika and 1 flat tbs vegetable seasoning. Add water to cover the beans and add a little more if you think the stew is too thick. Add the tomato sauce in the end and the bay leaf.
- Leave to cook covered at a low temperature for about 1 hour.
- Add parsley in the end and check if the beans are cooked well.
- If desired, you can add chopped potato and pepper. If you add these vegetables, do that in the beginning when you add the beans in the pot.
- You can prepare the same stew using other veggies - experiment!
Enjoy!
