FLAT BREAD ON A FRYING PAN

Delicious and aromatic flat bread, soft inside and crispy on the outside. The recipe is inspired by the Arabic cuisine. When I visited Egypt about 10 years ago, I tried something similar in the middle of the Sahara desert and I still remember the taste. This flat bread reminded me of my trip.
 Ingredients:
  • 10 g of fresh yeast,
  • 250 g of flour,
  • 1 teaspoon of salt,
  • half a tablespoon of sugar,
  • 100 ml of yogurt,
  • 80 ml of lukewarm water,
  • a tablespoon of oil,
  •  butter for coating
Preparation:
  1. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
  2. Mix the flour, then take out 2 tablespoons aside. Add sugar, salt, water, yogurt and finally the melted yeast to the flour.
  3. Mix by hand or with a mixer with the dough attachments. When you mix the ingredients well, the mixture will be sticky and not solid, then gradually add the remaining 2 tablespoons of flour and knead a nice soft and smooth dough. Form a ball, cover with oil and cover with plastic wrap for 1 hour in a warm place.
  4. Then transfer the dough to a floured surface, sprinkle with flour and knead the dough a little.
  5. Divide it into 4 parts that you will shape into balls.
  6. Leave them covered for 20 minutes.
  7. Then, with your hands or a rolling pin, spread each ball the size of a crust as big as the pan in which you will bake.
  8. Leave them to rest for another 10 minutes.
  9. Then bake them one by one in a heated pan.
  10. Leave to bake on one side for about 1 minute and then turn over. When they are nicely baked on both sides, take them out and coat them with butter.
  11. They are delicious so you can eat them without anything or as an addition to the main dish.
