Preparing fish is always a challenge. This was my first attempt at preparing salmon. You can find fresh salmon in fish markets very rarely here and it's pretty expensive. But freshly frozen salmon is available in markets. Of course, fresh is always better if available. rich in protein and omega-3 fatty acids. It's very healthy and one should eat it at least 2 times a month.
I used 1200 g of frozen salmon here. I left it to defrost in the fridge.
Ingredients:
- about 1 kg salmon cutlets
- 2 lemons
- salt and pepper
- 2-3 cloves chopped garlic
- 4 tbs soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- olive oil
- 100 ml warm water
Preparation:
- Season the salmon cutlets with salt and pepper. Pour freshly squeezed lemon juice over cutlets, put them in a bowl, cover them and let them stand for at least 30 minutes.
- Make a paste of chopped garlic, soy sauce and sugar. Coat the chops well with the obtained mixture and arrange them in an oiled pan. Add a little warm water (about 100 ml) to keep the salmon juicy during baking.
- Bake in a moderately heated oven until the cutlets are done. Bake around 20 minutes, then flip on the other side.
- 5 minutes before taking the dish out of the oven, put a slice of lemon on each cutlet and wait a few minutes for it to bake.
