You've certainly noticed before that the dessert recipes I post aren't very complicated. I try to post recipes that anyone can make and don't require much time or specific ingredients, but still taste and look beautiful. This recipes is also like that. Quick and easy biscuit, poured with some syrup and cream applied on top. Easy right? Check it out.
Ingredients:
Biscuit:
- 5 eggs
- 5 tablespoons sugar
- 5 tablespoons flour
- 5 tablespoons ground walnuts
- 1 bag of baking powder (2 tsp)
Syrup:
- 300 g of sugar (10,5 oz)
- 500 ml of water (2 cups)
Custard cream:
- 3 bags of vanilla pudding (120 g of vanilla instant powder pudding or 4,2 oz)
- 1 liter of milk (4 cups)
- 6 tbs sugar
- 250 g butter or margarine (8.8 oz)
Decoration:
- grated chocolate and walnuts
Preparation:
- First prepare the syrup, put sugar and water to boil for about 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
- Mix eggs and sugar with a mixer. Add flour, walnuts and the baking powder, mix with a wooden spoon and pour this mixture in an oiled baking tray (20x25cm). Bake at 180 C (356 F) degrees for about 20 minutes. Check with a toothpick if the biscuit is ready.
- After baking, pour the biscuit with the cold syrup and leave to completely cool.
- Cook pudding according to the instructions given on the bag: boil milk with the sugar, then add previously dissolved powder pudding in a cup of milk and mix. Soon it will thicken. Remove from heat to completely cool and cover with a plastic foil. When pudding is cold, beat butter with a mixer and add it to the pudding, mix well with a mixer to obtain a fine creamy custard. Apply this cream evenly to the biscuit.
- Decorate with grated chocolate and ground walnuts.
- Leave in fridge for several hours, then, cut in cubes and serve.
