I haven't been eating nutella and other cocoa creams for a long time because their composition is really unhealthy. Nutella and 2 other creams on the market in our country have at most 14% hazelnuts, the rest is sugar, palm oil, cocoa and other useless (harmful) ingredients. Not to mention the other creams, either have no hazelnuts at all or have 2-3%. So I decided to make my own cream. I did not follow a recipe, I followed my instinct. Initially I wanted to combine hazelnuts with melted chocolate, I just did not have dark chocolate at the moment so I decided to leave such a combination for another time. Here I used hazelnuts, cocoa, honey and coconut butter.
Ingredients:
- 100 g peeled roasted hazelnuts (about 4 oz)
- 1 full tablespoon cocoa
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon coconut butter
Preparation:
- First roast the hazelnuts to release the odors and fat. Roast in a regular pan on a medium heat with occasional stirring for about 7 minutes. The pan should not be oiled. Allow to cool.
- Then put them in a blender or food processor and blend with breaks and occasional stirring for about 10 minutes. First they will grind, then they will start to become sticky and finally you will get a thick cream / butter from hazelnuts when all oil and butter is released.
- Then add the cocoa, honey and melted coconut butter and blend until smooth.
- Place the cream in a jar and store at room temperature.
- You can spread this cream on bread, crepes, use it in fillings, cakes, pastries and anything you can think of. I ate it directly from the jar :)
