I tried these wonderful chocolates at my neighbor friend yesterday and I can freely say that they are better than the real Snickers. The taste somehow came to me as a mixture of Snickers, Mars and Bounty - just perfect. And the ingredients are far healthier. Combination of soft inside and roasted peanuts, topped with crunchy chocolate, these bars literally melt in your mouth. I can't explain how good they are, it's been a long time since something blew me away with its awesomeness. This is a MUST TRY RECIPE.
Ingredients:
Base
- 120 g oatmeal (4.2 oz)
- 150 g seedless dates (5.3 oz)
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil (coconut butter)
Peanut cream layer
- 300 g boneless dates (10.6 oz)
- 4 tablespoons peanut butter
- pinch of salt
- 100 g roasted unsalted peanuts (3.5 oz)
Glaze
- 250 g milk chocolate (or dark if desired)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
Preparation:
- First, soak the dates in warm water for about 1 hour to make them easier to blend.
- Then prepare the base: put the oatmeal in a blender and add the dates and melted coconut oil. Blend until a smooth mixture is obtained.
- Transfer the resulting mixture to a pan lined with baking paper 24 by 20 cm, even it well and place in the fridge to harden.
- Meanwhile, prepare the peanut cream. Put the dates and peanut butter with a pinch of salt in a blender and mix until a creamy mixture is obtained. Apply this mixture on the base, then place the peanuts evenly on top and gently press the peanuts to enter the cream. Return the tray to the refrigerator for a few hours to firm the mixture well.
- Then, after several hours, cut the mixture into 16 bars.
- Melt the chocolate together with the coconut oil on steam or in the microwave and chocolate each bar separately.
- Leave them to cool nicely in the fridge and enjoy the wonderful taste.
