Wonderful and quick dessert with ready puff pastry. I don't use puff pastry very often, but when I do, I say to myself, why I don't use it more often. I had the idea for this strudel a long time ago, only I realized it today. The strudel is so good you'll literally lick your fingers. I know I did :). You can also use filling of your choice. I've tried something similar with jam and vanilla pudding, it was also amazing.
Ingredients:
- 1 puff pastry
- 2 bananas
- 4 tablespoons cocoa cream of your choice
- 1 egg yolk
- chopped hazelnuts
Preparation:
- Spread the puff pastry into a rectangular shape and divide it into two parts.
- Put cream on the middle part, sprinkle hazelnuts and put 1 chopped banana.
- Cut the dough as in the pictures and fold it.
- First fold the top and the bottom, then the sides, one stripe from the left, one from the right until you fold them all.
- Coat the resulting strudels with egg yolk and sprinkle with crushed hazelnuts.
- Bake at maximum temperature for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly after baking as you may get burned from the hot cream.
