FAST SALTY SPONGY CAKE

 A quick, fantastic, savory cake, gone in 30 minutes after I got it out from the oven. A great idea for breakfast, goes excellent with plain yogurt or sour milk. It's also a great addition to your table in solemn occasions. This cake is so simple to prepare and doesn't require special skills to make it. With the following ingredients you can make muffins as well.

Ingredients:

  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 cup sour milk or yogurt
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 250 g of grated cheese
  • 250 g of chopped salami
  • 1 sachet baking powder (2 tsp)
  • optional - boiled chopped carrots, pickles and  chopped parsley

Preparation:

  1. First beat the eggs with a mixer.
  2. Add the liquid ingredients, then the sifted flour with the baking powder and the rest of the ingredients.
  3. Mix well with and pour the mixture into an oiled medium-sized pan (30 cm) and bake at 180 C (350 F) degrees for about half an hour. Check with a toothpick if the cake is ready.
  4. Leave to cool for 15 minutes, then serve.
  5. This cake is also good when cold and if necessary, you can freely put it in the freezer. Defrosted tastes the same.
